DESCRIPTION:Homestead National Monument of America will be 75 years old on Saturday\, March 19. Homestead invites the public to celebrate with us\, beginning with ranger-guided prairie hikes that will start at the Education Center at both  1 0 and 11 a.m. At 12:30 p.m. visitors can enjoy birthday cake shaped like the iconic Palmer-Epard Cabin. \n\n\n\nJourney of the monument's 75 year history at the Education center at 1 p.m.\n\n\n\nFormer Nebraska Senator David Landis will speak at 2 p.m. about Senator George Norris\, who was the Father of Homestead National Monument and spearheaded the movement to make Daniel Freeman's homestead  a National Park Service site.\n\n\n\nPlease\, dress accordingly\, as the morning programs will be held outdoors\, weather permitting. All programs and refreshments are free of charge.\n\n\n\nJourney
