DESCRIPTION:During the holiday season donations are collected from numerous individuals and businesses. The department asks area schools to pick a younger child that they feel would benefit from this program.\n\nAlthough financial need can be a reason fornomination\, this program also brings the opportunity for mentoring between the children and the Sherriff's Office staff.\n\n\n\nA staff member from the Gage County Sheriff's Office or the Gage County Detention Facility will pick the child up after school in a patrol vehicle. Everyone will meet up at a local store and go shopping. During the ride the children wil be allowed to run the lights and sirens.\n\n\n\nAfter shopping the group meets up at the Sheriff's Office where pizza and pop will be served.\n\nOnce all the gifts have been wrapped up and loaded into each patrol vehicle\, the children are then taken home.\n\n\n\nDonations can be sent to the Gage County Sheriff's Office at 612 Lincoln Street\, Suite 1\, Beatrice\, NE 68310.
