Red Alert” Author Daniel Wildcat to Speak at 
Homestead National Monument of America
 
Native American Scholar Daniel Wildcat, author of “Red Alert: Saving the Planet with indigenous Knowledge” will speak at the Homestead National Monument of America Education Center on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2 p.m.  Professor Wildcat will follow his program with a book signing.  “Red Alert: Saving the Planet with Indigenous Knowledge”. The book is available for purchase in the monument bookstores.
Wildcat will speak about one of the biggest problems we face as a society today, the damaging way humans live on the planet.  He will draw upon ancient Native American wisdom and nature-centered beliefs to advocate a modern strategy to combat global warming.  He believes it doesn’t have to be hard, we just need to get started. 
Daniel Wildcat is Director of the American Indian Studies Program and the Haskell Environmental Research Studies Center at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.  “This will be a unique perspective on what we can do now for the betterment of our planet.” stated monument Superintendent Mark Engler.
