Old- Fashioned Spelling Bee at Homestead

Starts at 1 p.m. at the Homestead National Monument of America's historic Freeman School.  Words will be taken from the Eclectic Spelling Book published by McGuffey's in 1879.  Contestants will be divided into four categories; under 7, 7-11, 12-15, and over 16 to adult. 

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice.  Current hours of operation are 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.  Admission is free of charge.
